Tacos El Chapo staff are very friendly, they food is great and fairly priced. I'm a big fan of empanadas and they make a mean one there. If you are looking for authentic Mexican cuisine, Tacos El Chapo is a good place to go

I'm a cook, and my wife is from Mexico and hands down this is the best Tamale I've ever had in America. Tacos were delicious but the mixo was the best! Pretty pricey compared to my #1 spot but the serving size is definitely up to par with price.. had a hard time finding the place, expected it to be it's own place but was located INSIDE the gas station and there was almost nowhere to stand.. and be ready to order when u finally get spoken to, because the girl behind the counter has ZERO patience for lookers... with that being said I'll be going back just for the Tamales

Great authentic Mexican street tacos !

This is (hands down) the best Mexican food that Ive had in the area. Everything is made in house, and the tacos are absolutely delicious. This is one of very few places in this area that makes Mexican food on par with (in this case maybe a little better than) what we were eating in Texas. My wife had enchiladas, and I had a carnitas, a mixto (chorizo and carnitas), and a pastor taco. All of it was stellar, and the house-made sauces (ranging from mild to a very smoky and fairly hot red sauce) were amazing compliments to the food. The guy who runs this place is incredibly polite and made an already great experience that much better. The only downside is the location, but overlook it, plop down in a chair, and have one of the best plates of Mexican food youre going to find in the Tampa area.

Who cares if it in a gas station. This is where the best tacos are found. Try the Horchata as well.

First and foremost, I just want to say that I've been searching for good Mexican food in Florida for years, and Tallahassee was the only place that I knew of that had a decent spot (only went there once due to living in Pasco). El Chapo is inside a gas station, which I already knew was going to be good! The young lady that assisted us, was patient and shared some history about the food we were ordering, which was a plus for me.

We ordered a Carne Asada Torta, a couple of Burritos, some Chicken Empanadas, and a Churro. You're getting better quality food for their price point, and a nice sized portion might I add. I'm a big guy, and I was only able to eat half my Torta, and snacked on the other half throughout the day lol. Me and my family thoroughly enjoyed the food, and plan on coming back soon.

My only complaint is this, I wish we would've gone earlier in the day to try their tamales and the steak empanadas. Please give this place a try.

I just happen to stop for gas at this shell station and as I walked got hit with the most delicious smells ever! I look over at this little open kitchen and see two ladies cooking Mexican food. I had to order and glad I did cause I have been a customer ever since. The steak chimichanga is my go to and there home made hot sauce and guacamole is a must have. Everything is good and worth the stop if in the area. To me best Mexican food in the area hands down!

Had a craving for Mexican food today, and when the best-closest place wasn't open decided to give Tacos El Chapo a try, based on the image they had of beautifully fresh tacos and other reviews, "Yeah, they're in a Shell gas station, eat there anyway" and wow - it was amazing.

I tried Birria for the first time, and they were sfutted all the way through with beef, had great flavor and toppings. I especially enjoyed the brown salsa and the raddishes on top - great flavor and good crunch.

My partner got a burrito with some extra ground beef, which I thought would be incorporated into the burrito, but was served on the side. He put it on top, along with more of that flavorful brown salsa and found it very tasty.

Chips were pretty standard, but their salsa was super flavorful.

Only comment I have is that I'd have liked more of both the salsa with the chips, and the brown salsa which accompanied both dishes.

This is our new favourite Mexican place, and we plan to return!

NOW I have found the BEST! in NEW Port Richey! You would have never thought Great food would be at a Shell Ga s Station.
I highly recommend and spread the word about this place. WAY better that D tacos in Tarpon Springs, Fl or any other, A must try. I would suggest to call in an order for pick up IF your not going to eat there. They do have 3 tables to sit and enjoy your food.
I have gone back within 3 days. I will continue to go as long as they are there.

Fresh taco place in a gas station. Chicken tacos were made fresh and flavorful but a little dry. Needsalsa and lime but that's provided. Mild salsa is very fresh and well seasoned. The hot salsa was spicy and thick. Was a little disappointed because I asked for ground beef empanadas and when I got home and heated them up, they were chicken. The chicken and cheese empanadas were ok but need more seasoning. Would like to try the beef one!

Wow just wow. I eat a lot of tacos but this place is on another level. If you like food at all you need to give this place a try.

The churro is the best I've ever had in my life! It's like they put a small dab of vanilla creme in the middle. Ahhh it's amazing. The cost is a little higher because they have the best quality and freshness. The portions are large. I ordered 4 tacos and could have been super stuffed with just 3. They made my super white friend an American style taco, which I anticipated would be a trashy flour taco, but was the most beautiful taco I've ever seen. Almost made me order one for myself. Dont be quick to judge is what I learned. Thanks Santos for an awesome dinner! We will be back!!!

Great taco place finally in Port richey area. Some of the best tacos I've had no lie there. Only downside is it's quite pricey :( 36 dollars for 3 birria tacos 3 al pastor and an agua Fresca. Would definitely make it an often stop if it wasn't so pricey.

Wow!! I'm a taco connoisseur I alway try new spots around the state when I can. And I have to say hands down this place is the best I've ever tried. The taco portions are on the bigger side then most places and the flavor was flawless. Highly recommend this place you won't be disappointed.

Soooooo..... ill start by saying hands down the best birria tacos I have ever had in florida. I am a huge taco fanatic and they have won my heart and my stomach. Id highly recommend them to anyone.

The food is AMAZING! My husband and I went on a lunch date for Birria tacos (only served thursday-saturday) and authentic horchata and we were so happy!! Everyone was so sweet and they even gave us chips and salsa since it was our first time. The location is a little hard to find because they are actually INSIDE the shell gas station, but it is seriously a hidden gem. Everything was so good we even ordered empandas for dinner to go. We will definitely be back
